“He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish his kingdom.”  David is considered the greatest of the kings of Israel.  In spite of his flaws David would repent and remain faithful to God.  It is from the lineage of David that God’s promised Messiah would come.  A king greater than even David.  A king that would build a house, a kingdom in which all people would find peace and justice.  A kingdom in which people would study war no more.  A kingdom where there would be no more tears, no more disease, no more hatred, no more want, no more death.  It would be a kingdom where the wolf shall live with the lamb, the lion shall lie down with the kid, and a little child shall lead them.  In the genealogies presented in both Matthew and Luke, it is clear that Jesus is the promised king.  Amen
